Frontotemporal dementia is a group of disorders that cause deterioration and shrinkage in the front and side lobes (regions) of the brain which control decision-making, thinking, and behavior. Although FTD is a disorder with characteristics in common, there are a number of variants that exist, presenting with unique symptoms, diagnosis information, and treatment plans. Join us this week as cognitive neurologist and Chief of Cognitive and Behavioral Neurology at the University of Rochester Medical Center, David Gill, MD, discusses behavioral and medication management.
*This five-part series is intended for caregivers of persons living with Frontotemporal dementia or primary progressive aphasia.*
