This PIA was established in April 2019.

The Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD) syndromes--behavioral FTD, the semantic and nonfluent primary progressive aphasias, progressive supranuclear palsy, corticobasal degeneration and FTD-ALS--are important forms of dementia, particularly in young and midlife adults. This PIA aims to bring focus and a platform for educating the ISTAART and wider community about FTD, especially early career clinicians and researchers. The goals include creating a forum for presenting new work by early career investigators, connecting researchers from different FTD research fields to stimulate collaborations, and fostering partnerships with advocacy and industry groups to facilitate treatment development and clinical trials.
